Jupiter

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and was anthropomorphised as the King of the Roman gods and goddesses. Jupiter is a gigantic planet and the god's ego was proportionately large.

Amun was the Eqyptian equivalent to the Greek Zeus and Roman Jupiter. All of these fellows were the kings of their respective pantheons, all with big egos and great deeds to their credit. The King archetype has been around for a long time. The only thing that has changed is how the king gets to his rightful place.

In Goddess lore, he is assured his place through Her desire for him. In other words, the Goddess bestows royalty on her consort. He can't be King without his Queen, his Maker. He is the Beloved.

In later years, as patriarchy grew, he inherited his right to rule by birth through a father-god.
